Hi Beautiful Friends,
From Library Walls to the Silver Screen...
When I was a kid, the school library wasn't just a place for books—it was my refuge.
It was a safe space where I could find a quiet corner when I didn’t know how to connect with the other kids. It was where the librarian helped me feel like I belonged. I even think my early organization skills bloomed there in those days, as we worked together to help re-organize the books into the new Dewey Decimal system, lol. In doing so, she taught me that every story has its own place and its own way of connecting with others.
This connection to the library has always stayed with me, and it feels incredibly fitting to announce that my directorial debut MEETING MR. OSCAR, will host its first public screening at the New York Public Library in Tompkins Square on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 6:00 PM (RSVP here).
Like my childhood library, our film is a story about finding an unexpected connection in an unlikely place.
It's an uplifting, award-winning tale of an improbable friendship and the power of a second chance.
My fellow filmmakers and I are also incredibly honored that Meeting Mr. Oscar has been recognized with awards from across the globe, including a special accolade for our late costar, Frank.
The library is a place where every story is a conversation waiting to happen.
Please join us as we bring our film home to a place that means so much to me.
Following the screening, there will be a discussion and Q&A with my collaborators.
I can't wait to see you there...
